MAYOR Jed Patrick Mabilog has ordered the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to prioritize and finish immediately all ongoing road projects in Iloilo City, as flooding has been noted in streets under rehabilitation.

In a letter sent to DPWH Regional Director Edilberto Tayao on Monday, Mabilog said the flooding situation in the city is worst, as heavy rains brought by Typhoon Florita starting Sunday, July 6, continue to inundate several barangays.

Mabilog said the projects must be completed immediately in San Pedro, Molo; Mabini and Gen. Luna in the city proper; diversion road and San Rafael in Mandurriao district; and at the La Paz public market and nearby Sonalan area. (Lydia C. Pendon)
