ILOILO City legal office chief Daniel Dinopol tagged as "baseless" and unsupported the charges of at least five village chiefs in Jaro district against the operation of Vallacar Transit Terminal in Camalig village, Jaro.

Earlier, the village chiefs of the affected barangays Tagbac, Buhang, Camalig, Balantang, and Buntatala asked the court for a temporary restraining order (TRO) saying “they would definitely and unduly suffer from worsening traffic congestion, health hazards, increased criminality, increased vehicular accidents, increased danger to students of three schools in the area, flooding and overflowing of the drainage system, sanitary problems and pollution due to the operation of Vallacar Transit at the site.”

The plaintiffs claimed that city Regulation Ordinance 2013-472 and Regulation Ordinance 2014-049 amended the perimeter boundary ordinance (PBO) in order to be partial and favoring a single person or entity Vallacar Transit.

However, Dinopol said the village chiefs have no concrete evidence.

He said the City Council had already made surveys and public hearings before the terminal was put up.

Dinopol added that he is set to submit an opposition answer with the court this week.
