ILOILO City councilor Nielex C. Tupas has said that his wife, Dr. Candice Alumisin-Tupas, will remain as his partner and is not planning to join mainstream politics.

Nielex said his wife’s joining mainstream politics is unlikely since she is helping him in his programs focusing on health and wellness well as family relations especially as she is a wife, mother and a medical doctor.

Tupas said his wife is a great homemaker and she bakes awesome cookies and makes superb pasta. She also leads community programs and projects for the women organization she is part of.

He admitted talking to his wife about the clamor of constituents in running in 2016. However, the physician nixed the plan and said she is more focused on further training and studies in the field of medicine, on being a wife and mother, on helping her childhood family's business in her simple and little ways, and on being a supportive public servant's spouse.

Tupas said his wife has no plans of running for public office this coming 2016 election and there have been no meetings to discuss her political line-up.
