RDC officials to meet 18 Western Visayas lawmakers

THE 18 Western Visayas members of the House of Representatives will meet and confer with members of the Regional Development Council (RDC) advisory committee on Wednesday at the Batasang Pambansa.

Iloilo City lone district Representative Jerry Treñas is the lead convenor of the meeting while the host is Representative Alfredo Benitez of the 3rd District of Negros Occidental.

The meeting will hopefully discuss the priority legislative agenda for 2014-2016 and updates on the reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts for Typhoon Yolanda affected areas in the region.


Headed by National Economic and Development Authority (Neda) Reg. Dir. Ro-ann Bacal, the Advisory committee is composed of 20 members of the RDC-VI Executive Committee that include the RDC-VI officers, chair and co-chairpersons of the RDC Sector Committees, and the congressmen.

The meeting will discuss the priority programs and projects identified in the recently approved Updated Regional Development Investment Program, 2014-2016, the updates on the major activities undertaken by the National Government agencies for the rehabilitation and recovery of areas affected by Typhoon Yolanda, and the proposed legislative measures that will help push for the realization of the region’s vision for development as enunciated in the Updated Regional Development Plan for 2014-2016 of Western Visayas.
