THE coming integration of 10 member-countries in the Asean for a common market and production base is good for the country’s telecommunication industry, said Globe Telecommunication President Ernest Cu.

In an interview during the Globe annual stockholders meeting in Metro Manila last week, Cu said his company is at par or even excellent than the telcos of other Asean countries.

“We can compete because we are much better and the ASEAN integration will help us open new markets for exports of our products perfected in our country,” Cu said.

Cu said the telecommunication industry in the Philippines has come a long way.

The Association of South East Asian Nations (Asean) is composed of 10 member countries in South East Asia working together for a common market of products to enhance productivity and sustainability of countries towards economic advancement.
