THE City Government of Iloilo City will ban the sale of liquor and other intoxicating liquid in all city plazas on Good Friday, April 18, 2014, as the whole nation observes the Lenten Season.
City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog said an executive order will be issued soon to implement the liquor ban.

Mabilog said he instructed the Special Services Unit (SSU) and the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (Cenro) office to be on alert to stop the nefarious activity within the plaza.
Mabilog said drinking liquor on Good Friday is not a good Christian practice and an insult to the religious activity.
