THE municipality of Mina in Iloilo province will host the regional launching of Philippine Health Corporation’s “Alaga Ka Program,” an integrated advocacy campaign for universal healthcare.

Governor Arthur Defensor Sr., who will be among the guests, said the launching is the highlight of PhilHealth’s 19th anniversary that has a theme, “Benepisyong PhilHealth, Alamin at Gamitin.”

He said the launching will provide venue for PhilHealth members to know their rights under universal healthcare and other services offered to them by the government.

Defensor said Mina was chosen by PhilHealth regional Vice President Dennis Mas after the latter found the town’s institutionalized health programs fitting to the concepts of the program.

An estimated 4,000 beneficiaries identified through the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS–PR) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and their dependents are expected to attend.

The launching of PhilHealth's "Alaga Ka Program" will start at 8 a.m. on March 24, in the covered gym of Mina. (PIO)
