DSWD-Western Visayas reaps awards in evaluation

THE Department of Social Welfare and Development in Western Visayas (DSWD 6) has reaped awards during the Program Review and Evaluation of National Government programs held recently in Legaspi City, Albay.
Of the 17 regions in the Philippines, DSWD 6 tied with DSWD-Zamboanga Peninsula for the first place in the absorption rate category.

DSWD 6 also placed second in the “Regions with Highest Payout Rate” award covering the cash grant releases made in 2013, and third as “Best Performing Region in Capability Building Implementation” based on the following criteria: training participation rate, number of trained participants and number of trainings conducted.
DSWD information officer Alma Jornadal-Estember said that records of the DSWD showed that in 2013, DSWD 6 was able to obligate some P260 million on its Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) implementation; processed the release of cash grants to 4Ps beneficiaries amounting to P1.9 billion from November 2012 to October 2013.
In 2013, DSWD 6 also conducted three capability building trainings for Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries, four for program partners, and five for program staff.
Estember said that hard work, support, and dedicated service of all employees and staff contributed to the awards received.
