FOUR public elementary schools in Iloilo City will be recipients of the Food Aid Program for School Children.

The food program was organized by the Iloilo Dinagyang Foundation (IDFI), Iloilo Red Cross, Rotary Club of Metro Iloilo and the Dr. Rene and Daisy Lim Foundation.

IDFI chairman Ramon Cua Locsin said that recipients of the food aid program are pupils of A. Mirasol Elementary School in Mandurriao district on January 7, Hibao-an Elementary School in Mandurriao district on January 9, Sto. Niño Sur Elementary School in Arevalo district on January 14, and Rizal Elementary School in the city on January 16.

The same group will conduct a medical mission in two city barangays in Jaro district.

The medical missions will be conducted on January 11 at Barangay San Isidro and January 18 at Barangay Lanit, both in Jaro district.

Locsin said the food aid and medical mission are in line with the Dinagyang festival, which is more than color, sound and dance.

He added that the festival has also a compassionate face for the school children, elderly and the sick. (Lydia C. Pendon)
