Iloilo bares winning bidders for hospital upgrades

EIGHT hospitals in Iloilo City are now up for upgrades as notices of award have already been issued to the winning contractors who bid for the projects.

The Bids and Award Committee (BAC) declared the following as winning bidders:

- JHJ Construction owned by Jorge Jaruda for the upgrading of Dr. Ricardo Provido Sr. Memorial District Hospital in Calinog in the amount of P20,189,726.66;


- Roprim Construction owned by Engr. Ronnie Primaylon for the upgrading of Jesus Colmenares District Hospital in Balasan in the amount of P24,767,036.47;

- HLJ Construction and Enterprises owned by Henry Jordan for the upgrading of Barotac Viejo District Hospital in the amount of P17,382,271.82;

- Patrila Builders Inc. owned by Lyndon Lataquin for the upgrading of Federico Roman Tirador Sr. Memorial District Hospital in Janiuay in the amount of P17,664,808.10;

- Culasi General Merchandising & Construction Services owned by Neil Superficial for the upgrading of Aleosan District Hospital in Alimodian in the amount of P10,317,947.78;

- Jaderock Builders managed by Rolando Rante for the upgrading of Dumangas District Hospital in the amount of P15,027,559.50;

- AFG Construction owned by Eva Fernandez for the upgrading of Don Valerio Palmares Memorial District Hospital in Passi City in the amount of P16,267,473; and

- FLT Enterprises owned by Freddielee Tamba for the upgrading of Ricardo Ladrio Memorial District Hospital in Lambunao in the amount of P22,352,651.51.

The winning bidders are given ten days upon receipt of the notice to enter into contract with the Provincial Government, after which, a notice to proceed would be given to them for the start of the construction.

The province has also prepared the documents relative to the upgrading and improvement of four catchment hospitals, namely, Iloilo Provincial Hospital in Pototan and the district hospitals in Guimbal, Cabatuan and Sara, following the Provincial Board’s approval of the loan with Land Bank of the Philippines amounting to P300 million.

The Defensor administration already invested millions of pesos for the renovation and upgrading of hospital, acquisition of medical equipment and supplies, and training of personnel under its Hospital Efficiency Assurance through Reform and Transformation (Heart) program.

Defensor said this is the first time that massive improvements are being done in all of the province’s district hospitals.

He said the improvement of hospitals as well as the enhancement of health services that are being implemented by his administration will primarily benefit the poor. (PR)
