QUEEN of All Media Kris Aquino and actress Angel Locsin visited Concepcion, Iloilo to distribute relief goods to victims of Typhoon Yolanda.

The two flew to the Visayan region over the weekend to personally see the condition of the affected communities in Iloilo and to render help through ABS-CBN Foundation's Sagip Kapamilya.

According to Kris, even though the province was devastated by the recent storm, the Ilonggos still managed to smile away their problems.

In Concepcion alone, there are 33,000 families affected by Yolanda.

Kris, who previously voiced out her concerns on the delay of the distribution of relief goods, said she's happy to hand over the help and support given by private groups through her morning program.

Angel, on the other hand, said she's grateful that they were able to help through Sagip Kapamilya and bring smile to the faces of Ilongos.

The actress has been helping calamity victims since Manila was devastated by Typhoon Ondoy in 2009. She organized relief efforts and started auction website Shop & Share.

For Yolanda victims, the actress donated her 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle to Sagip Kapamilya relief effort.

Kris, on her part, was among the first celebrities who handed monetary help to Ormoc City. The television host handed Representative Lucy Torres and husband Richard Gomez P400,000 for the affected families in Leyte.

Amid the calamities -- earthquake and typhoon -- the country is facing now, Kris believes Filipinos will get through this stronger and as one.

(Sunnex)
