THE Provincial Government and the Department of Education (DepEd) of Negros Oriental assured that all systems go for the Palarong Pambansa 2013.

Negros Oriental is the host of this year’s Palarong Pambansa. DepEd said 17 regional athletic delegations will be participated in the first ever hosting of Palarong Pambansa in the province.

Adolf Aguilar of the DepEd said 8,500 athletes and 4,000 officials are on the way to the province.

Week-long sports activities will officially open in April 21 through a grand parade around the major streets of Dumaguete City and will end in April 27.

Under the Palarong Pambansa 2013 theme: “Sports, road to peace and progress!” The organizers will try to form a largest human peace sign for the Guinness Book of World Record.

The organizers will also present new sports events such as Futsal, Wushu and special games this year.

Police provincial director Senior Superintendent Noli Romana assured the delegates for the safe sports events. (Victor L. Camion)
