BEMEDALLED Sonny Wagdos and Judelyn Miranda emerged as champions in the 10k men's and women's categories in the recently-concluded The Royal Mandaya Hotel "HunatDabaw 2" Fun Run in an out-and-back course at the The Royal Mandaya Hotel Parking Lot, yesterday morning.

Wagdos, who recently nabbed honors in the Jollibee Fun Run and Run For the Future, clocked 34 minutes, besting Michael John Echalico and Arnie Macareñas who settled for the second and third spots, respectively.

"Wala na ko nalampasan akong record last year. 34 minsa kong time record karon tapos 32 mintues ko last year. Mihinay lang koug dagan kay layo man kayo ang misunod sa ako. Mag-rest lang sa kokay naa pod koy gina-andaman nga Uni games karong October (I wasn't able to beat my time record in last year's run. I slowed down at the end part of the race because I knew my rival was too far to catch up. I also need to rest since I'm preparing for the upcoming Unigames this coming October,)" Wagdos said.

Miranda, for her part, secured her second straight Hunat Dabaw title by ousting veteran Monaliza Ambasa and Joan Hualic for the women's title. Ambasa and Hualic then occupied the next two places.

"Happy kay nadepensahan nako ang titulo. Hoping sa sunod ako ra gihapon (I'm very happy that I was able to defend my title. I'm hoping I can do it again next year)," Miranda said.
