Manila bets in Kadayawan ultra

IT'S all systems go for the staging of the 1st Kadayawan 100 Ultramarathon that will kick off at Brokenshire College, 7 p.m. tomorrow.

Race Logic Events Management's RoelAno, who guested in the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at the NCCC Mall B3 Center yesterday, said that there are 76 runners who already confirmed to join the said run.

"Runners are from Cagayan de Oro, Butuan, General Santos, Surigao, and Manila who will be coming to Davao City just to join the event," Ano said.


The ultramarathon features solo and relay categories. Prizes at stake will be P10,000 and a trophy for the men's champion while the next two finishers will pocket P7,000 and P5,000.The women's first three placers will take home P6,000, P5,000 and P4,000.

Ano also bared the a Kadayawan Colorful Run slated on Sunday, August 17, also starting and finishing at Brokenshire College.

"We are expecting 1,000 runners in the upcoming fun run event where we have guest runners coming from Panabo and Cotabato," Ano added.

Ano, for his part, urged everyone to support this fun run event.

Interested runners may sign up at Brokenshire College every Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.; at People's Park daily at 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.; at Toby's Arena every Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays at 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.; and at Adidas Gaisano Mall Davao daily from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. (KRP)
