Punta del Sol, SOS FC axe wins

THE Punta del Sol and SOS Football Club (FC) axed wins to retain their unbeaten records as the Sun.Star Davao-supported She Futsal League resumed at the SM Lanang Premier Parking Lot C Sunday.

Punta del Sol routed DDS Hinex, 12-1, behind veteran booters July Ann Bunac, Alvin Rose Pardillo, Kristel Dureza and June Mae Bunac.

Sisters July and June led the attack by knocking in four goals apiece while teammates Pardillo and Dureza added two goals each to complete the win.


Sanaa Jikiri scored the lone goal of DDS Hinex.

Punta del Sol, thus, kept its clean slate with three straight wins while DDS Hinex earned its third straight loss in four outings.

SOS FC, meanwhile, won their match against Ateneo B by default.

SOS FC stayed atop the team standings with a record of five wins and zero loss while Ateneo B slumped to its sixth defeat.

Brazil Street Child World Cup Golden Boot Awardee Agot Danton, who received two yellow cards in past games, served her suspension in this match.

SOS FC coach Shelly "Kitoy" Canton, in an interview with Sun.Star Davao, said Agot earned those yellow cards from in-game violations.

"Naay na-violate si Agot na rules during sa games kay sobra kaayo ka aggressive mu-attack (Agot violated some rules during the games because her aggressive style of play)," Coach Canton added.

Sister team SOS Girls, meanwhile, upset University of the Philippine (UP)-Mindanao, 9-8. Michelle Danton, Jessa Malate and Reylyn Geolingo delivered big as Danton and Malate made four goals as Geolingo added one goal.
UP Mindanao's scorers were Gon Cuabo and Krishna Balaga who netted five and three goals, respectively.
SOS Girls notched their second win in six games while UP-Mindanao suffered its second loss in the tournament.

In other games, DDS Khanj demolished Ateneo A (15-1) with scorers Michelle Alfeche, Kharla Sol Cruz, Leonor Satorre, Jerlyn Ibabao, Vanessa Leonar and Lorena Mongao. DDS Khanj improved to a 4-1 loss-card while struggling Ateneo A stayed at the bottom with five losses.

The She Futsal League is organized by Maharlika Sports Development Institute Inc.
