SOS FC, Sakya win anew

EARLY favorites SOS Children's Village Football Club (FC) and Sakya FC axed wins anew in the resumption of the She Futsal League Sunday at the SM Lanang Premier parking lot C.

The Agot Danton-led SOS FC routed DDS Khanj, 7-4, as Brazil's Street Child World Cup Golden Boot awardee scored a hat trick in the 23rd, 32nd and 39th minutes. Her teammates Mylene Albarracin and Joyce Semacio accounted for two goals each to complete the rout.

Danton, in a Facebook chat, said they are eyeing the title, confident that theirs is a strong team that can face tough opposition.


"Kusog kaayo. Si Joyce among import. Naa mi chance mudaug kay napildi man gani namo ang DDS (We are a strong team with Semacio as our import. We stand a good chance to win the title. We even defeated DDS)," said Danton, who will be cited as the outstanding female athlete in football in tonight 20th So Kim Cheng Sports Awards at the Grand Regal Hotel.

SOS FC toyed with sister team SOS girls, 15-3, in the opener.

Sakya FC, for its part, thrashed DDS Hinex, 9-1, behind the heroics of former national team member Merlo Albano who netted goals in the 8th, 17th, 25th and 29th. Zulieka Yee (9th), Christiane Jade Carasig (20th), Jasper Joy Cabisong (21th), Nikita Yee (37th), and Moira Calizo (40th) added one goal each.

Krista Villa-Abrille was lone scorer for DDS Hinex.

The Ateneo Mix, meanwhile, demolished Ateneo A (22-0) after beating Stripling Warriors (4-2) Friday.

June Mae Bunac knocked in 11 goals to lift Punta del Sol to a 22-0 win over SOS Girls.

Games will resume on weekend.
