New Titans prexy vows to continue advocacies

NEWLY-installed Team Titans Davao (TTD) president Richard Cagape Sr. vowed to continue the group's advocacies during the induction of officers and oath-taking of new members held Thursday at Cagape’s rest house in Island Garden City of Samal (Igacos).

Cagape, a businessman and social worker, said in a phone conversation with Sun.Star Davao that the team will continue their works among the less privileged communities of Davao City especially the Matigsalog Children of Malikongkong and Hospice Palliative Care of Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC).

“I hope to continue advocating healthy lifestyle and being active in our social responsibility. We are not just a running group. It is our passion to help people especially the lumads. Padayun gihapon ang among medical mission, gift giving, feeding, ug uban pa (We will continue with our medical mission, gift giving and feeding, among others)," Cagape said.


He said, “I may not be able to surpass what former president Dr. Ricardo Audan have done but I will do my very best to be at par with him especially in being of big help to everybody.”

He thanked all the members for trusting him to lead Titans, “Unanimous decision sa mga members sa to make me the president ug nalipay ko sa ilang pagsalig. Maningkamot ko na mapadayun ang maayong nasugdan sa grupo kay kalipay nga dili mabayran ang makatabang sa ubang tao (It was a unanimous decision that I was chosen the president. I am glad that the team trusted me. I will work hard to extend my service to those who need it)."

Audan, meanwhile, said, “I hope that the team, with its new set of officers, will continue to be an inspiration to other people in living a healthy lifestyle through athletics or sport. Also, continue to be partners in uplifting the community.”

Newly-elected officers are: Cagape (president) Sheila Torres (internal vice-president), Alvin Matus (external vice-president),Rolly Itallo (secretary), Paul Roma (assistant secretary), Dindo Dalumpines (treasurer), Chongkee Trajera (assistant treasurer), Sul Sales (auditor) and Board Members Edgar Barbon, Bobby Cervantes, Dax, Don Greg Espiritu and Judennis Regidor. Audan will serve as consultant.

Davao City Sports Council Inc. (DCSCI) president Beethoven "Ben" Sur served as inducting officer.

Aside from the induction of new officers, four new members were also inducted including their new American member.
