THIRTY women basketball players from the different secondary schools in Davao City joined in the basketball clinic conducted by the Ateneo de Manila University (Admu coaches held Monday afternoon at the Almendras Gym Davao City Recreation Center.
Participating schools were Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School (DRANHS), Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC), Davao City National High School (DCNHS) and other public schools in Buhangin and Toril.
Ateneo de Davao University (Addu) athletics director coach Noli Ayo said that the clinic is part of their goal in helping the young women basketball players in the city by learning some tips from Admu.
The participants were divided into three groups and three stations. Ball handling skills were taught in the first station, shooting skills for the second station and passing drills in the third station.
Coach Ayo said, “Mabuti rin na malaman ng mga bata kahit saglit lang kung paano nagti-train ang AdMU para mas ma-enhance pa ang skills nila sa basketball.”
Aside from the actual drills, the trainers also gave advices to the young players on the do’s and don’ts of the sport. (MDC)
