RONALD Dagaang and Olive Fermiza of Team Titans Davao (TTD) topped their respective events in the just-concluded 50-kilometer Davao Sundown Ultramarathon set from Caltex Maharlika Highway in Ma-a Davao City to Rotary Park in Tagum City.

Dagaang clocked four hours 13 minutes and 50 seconds to race past his teammate Jonathan Pido (4:22:30) and Ariel Nguho of ABS-CBN (4:24:20), who wounded up in the next two spots of the men's division. Davao Del Norte's Jomar Bacalso (4:42:40) and Archie De Asis of the Philippine National Police/Swat Team (4:57:42) placed fourth and fifth, respectively.

Fermiza, meanwhile, timed 5:28:51 to rule the distaff side. Jennifer Red Sabela of team Happy Finish Cagayan de Oro City (5:31:53) was second and Virginia Tumapon (5:53:53) third.

Giegs Castillo (6:05:57) finished fourth, while Letty Booc of Marvel Runners (6:07:25) came fifth.

Team Titans won the biggest delegation award with 46 of its runners who finished the race.

Dagaang and Fermiza also captured the gold medals of the previous Davao 50 Ultramarathon Eagle Run 2014 held in February at the Davao Eagle Ridge Resort.

In a text message, TTD outgoing president Dr. Ricardo Audan said, "In every major run we will always do it for our family, to the team Titans Davao and for the greater glory of God."

The event that drew a total of 176 runners was organized by Philippine Unified Runners headed by Katherine Villaflor along with Lyra Valles and Rhoda Oporto of Psycho Inday Runners.
