Davao ultramarathon gets underway May 17

THE 50-kilometer Davao Sundown Ultramarathon, which expects some 180 participants, will kick off on May 17 from Caltex Maharlika Highway in Ma-a Davao City going to Rotary Park in Tagum City.

Team Davao Runners, Indie Toes, Tagoloan Runners, Tagum Runners, Team Titans Davao, BJMP General Santos City, Team PNP, Tacurong Runners, Funny Runners Club, Butuan Runners Club, Team Ekek, Team Matutum, Team AQTIV, Team ABS-CBN Kapamilya, Marbel Runners, St. Joseph Runners, BXU Runners and Team CDO Engineering of Cagayan de Oro City confirmed their entries.

The event, organized by the Philippine Unified Runners and Psycho Inday Runners, will have a total cut off time of 10 hours for all participating runners.


All participants are required to bring their own hydration belt, blinker and headlamp for safety in the open road ultramarathon.

The top three finishers will receive trophies and medals while the first 10 registrants will receive a souvenir from Psycho Inday Runners and a customized event mug.

All participants will get finisher’s shirt, medal and certificate with post-race meals in the event including a chance to win a 32-inche LG LED TV from LG and Emcor Inc. in the raffle draw.
