Zamba, Daciba take Fedbop lead

THE Zamboanga Bowlers Association (Zamba) RN snatched the women's lead while Davao City Bowlers Association (Daciba) men's teams pace in the resumption of the 37th Federation of Duckpin Bowlers of the Philippines (FEDBOP) Annual Grand National Convention and Bowling Championship Tournament Wednesday afternoon at Dover Mega Lanes.

Zamba hit a total of 2,614 pinfalls after five games to unseat first round leader Daciba Phoenix that was relegated to the second place by rolling 2,536 pins.

The Iligan City Bowlers Association (2,521), Daproba Tagum (2,514) and Coproba FBC Kidapawan (2,488) occupied the next three places.


In the men's side, Daciba Sassy struck for 1,779 pinfalls after three games to grab the top spot of the team standings while Daciba-Dover (1,769) was second and Daciba SBC Adventurers (1,760) third.

The Daciba SBC Eagles (1,743) was fourth, Daciba Homer (1,736) fifth and Maguindanao Duckpin Bowlers Association (Madba) Renegade (1,699) sixth.

The Daciba Petronas (1,698), Davao Professional Bowlers Association (DAPROBA) MJS Lawis Tagum (1,695), Lasudba Ranch Lanao (1,647), Daciba Diagold (1,673), Cotabato Province Bowlers Association (Coproba) FBC (1,663) and Gesciba-RN Gensan (1,661) trailed.

Bebie Gutierrez and Mikka Badal of Iligan, meanwhile, garnered 483 pinfalls to emerge champion in the mixed doubles event participated by 62 teams.

Mac-Mac Memoracion and Mencie Angeles of Zamboanga (476) placed second followed by Davao City’s Berting Gorgonio and Gemma Tan (465) third and Zamba’s Bebie Vilario and Lenlen Bartolome settled for the fifth place (462) fourth.

The championship games will be played today.
