THE Davao Basketball Academy (DBA) is organizing two summer basketball camps in Davao Del Norte State College (DDNSC) Panabo City on May 5 to 16 and at Gaisano Grand Citimall Skygym Ilustre, Davao on May 12 to 23.

Training director Rael Diaz, in yesterday’s Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at NCCC Mall B3 Center, said that the event will apply three levels of basketball skills adapted from the Junior National Basketball Association.

“Nalaman naming na pwede palang i-combine ang levels 1,2 and 3 sa basketball training para mas maraming matutunan ang mga bata,” Diaz said.

He said that level 1 includes basic and fundamental drills of basketball (shooting, passing and dribbling), level 2 (advanced training system) while competitive training including a basketball competition in level 3.

The 10-session basketball camp will also serve as a fund raising activity for DDNSC to provide uniforms for the basketball players of DDNSC where Diaz serves as the basketball head coach.

Davao City camp head coach Chris Araneta, meanwhile, said that they will conduct an evaluation after the camp and look for more ways to promote the activity in grassroots.

A full two hour basketball competition will take place in the last day of the training where trophies and medals await the winners.

Registration fee is P2,000 inclusive of basketball and jersey for kids seven to 16 years old.

To register contact Diaz at mobile number (0921) 390-3659 or coach Cris at (0942)100-3921. (MDC)
