Davraa tracksters cop silver, bronze-A A +A

STA. CRUZ, Laguna - The Davao Region Athletic Association (Davraa) struck for a silver medal and a bronze in the fourth day of the 2014 Palarong Pambansa athletics competition at the Laguna Sports Complex here yesterday morning.
Joanna Marie Agodo got the silver in secondary girls 400-meter hurdles with a time of one minute and 5:6 seconds. The gold went to Josefina Yjay Baloloy of Southern Tagalog who checked in at 1:04:1 while Melissa Escoton of Eastern Visayas grabbed the bronze with a time of 1:06.
In secondary girls shot put, Kimberly Dangli heaved the iron ball at a distance of 10.29 meters to settle for the bronze. Diane de Jesus of Central Luzon registered 11.06 meters to capture the gold while Western Visayas bet Mary Joy Garcia took the silver with 10.29m.
Edchill Adorable, meanwhile, placed fourth in elementary girls javelin throw with 36.78 meters. Cotabato Region's Marizel Buer topped the event with 39.88m while Western Visayas thrower Gloryn Ann Unlayao (37.66m) and Jaica Anne Tello (36.91m) took the next two spots.
Mark Lister Montes struggled at sixth place in elementary boys 400m hurdles. He finished in 1:11.2. NCR's Jerard Christian Grafil (1:02) bagged the gold while Bicol's Jhan Dale Besmonte (1:04.8) and Cotabato's Jake Lyd Dejeran (1:05.7) salvaged the silver and bronze, respectively.
Berneil Cabanda (elementary boys 100m) and Christian Jay Omambac (shot put) were still playing as of this writing.
