Davao's Diamante, Koizumi top football camp in Makati

DAVAO CITY’s Darius Joseph Diamante and Yoshiharu Koizumi of Ateneo de Davao University topped the three-day camp of the Clear Manchester United Football Camp in Manila held last April 25-27 at the University of Makati football field.

The 16-year-old Diamante and 19-year-old Koizumi were hailed along with University of the Philippines Diliman football players’ Francisco Jose Primo Santos, Daniel Bernan Gadia and Ateneo de Manila University’s Michael Jerremy Mabanag and Javier Augustine Gayoso.

The top six qualifiers were trained by coaches and trainers from the Manchester United Football Club.


Some 32 teenage footballers in the country tested their skills to play with the United Legends Paul Scholes and Andy Cole in the 2014 Clear Dream Match.

Other players from Davao City who made it to the top 32 were Leo Abunas, Rocky Custodio, Jomar Acedo, Randy Josef Inguillo, Jeffril Cabaral and Stephen Anotado.
