City's nat'l Paragames tryout slated tomorrow-A A +A

THE Association of Differently-Abled Persons (Adap) Inc., in coordination with the Philippine Sports Association of the Differently-Abled (Philspada) Davao City, will hold a tryout tomorrow at the Martinez Sports Complex of the Ateneo de Davao University Matina Campus.
Philspada Davao president James Infiesto, in an e-mail to Sun.Star Davao, said the tryout is in preparation for the upcoming National Para Games slated on May 15-25 at the Marikina Sports Complex in Metro Manila.
Infiesto said members of Adap in Davao City will participate in the tryout to be held in cooperation with the Sports Development Division of the City Mayor’s Office (SDD-CMO).
Events entered are goal ball for the blind or visually impaired, athletics for the blind and orthopedically handicapped (OH), table tennis for wheelchair and with crutches categories, chess for OH and visually impaired, wheelchair basketball and swimming.
Expected to grace the opening rites are Davao City Administrator lawyer Melchor Qutain, SDD-CMO officer-in-charge William Ramirez, Department of Social Welfare and Development Region 11 director Priscilla Razon, City Social Services Development Office head Ma. Luisa Bermudo and councilor Bong Advincula Jr. along with Ateneo president Fr. Joel Tabora, AdDU athletic director Noli Oyo and Adap president Redendo Martinez.
