Engr. Diez rapid chess tournament on May 3-4

IT'S all systems go for the 3rd Engineer Allan Diez Rapid Chess Open Tournament that will unwrap on May 3 and 4 at the NCCC Mall Davao Food Cove Hall in Matina.

National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) regional director James Infiesto, in a text message yesterday, said the two-day event is open to all chess players in Davao City and neighboring areas with a registration fee of P200.

Cash prizes await the winners of the Swiss System format competition sanctioned by NCFP. The champion will take home P4,000 while the runner-up will pocket P2,000. The third-placer will get P1,000 and the next two placers will settle for P750 each.


The best kiddie and female players will each receive P500.
