OFFSOURCING Philippines Inc. Davao put up a solid defense to clinch the Davao Call Center Basketball League (DCCBL) title by beating Teleperformance Davao, 62-60, in the sudden death of their best-of-three finals at the jam-packed Evergold Gym, Obrero on Sunday afternoon.

The Alex Figueroa-Teleperformance (TP) coached team opened the game with a five-point lead against Offsourcing Davao, 16-11. The defense of TP tightened as they continued to lead until the second half, 24-20.

Felix Abracia-coached Offsourcing meanwhile crawled back during the third round to lead, 47-44.

Emotions were high as Offsourcing and TP tied at 60 points in the final quarter, yet the last two free throws of Ken Kintanar, seconds before the end of the final half sealed Offsourcing’s victory.

Offsourcing pocket the champion’s prize of P5,000 plus trophy while TP settled for the second place with P2,000 and a trophy.

Offsourcing’s Nogine Bonajos was hailed as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) at the same time part of the Mythical Five. The other Mythical Five were Felix Abracia (Offsourcing), Mikhail Moreno (Callbox), Dave Cadano (Teleperformance) and Nash Ignacio (IQOR). They received medals from the Accomptrove Outsourcing Services Inc. organized league.

In celebration of Offsourcing’s victory, a street party was held in Obrero Street headed by Offsourcing Davao’s owners and clients.

In an interview with Sun.Star Davao, tournament director Maki Ancajas thanked everyone who supported the league since it started last year.

“From Sutherland Vikings to Sutherland Banakons, Focusinc Group Corporation, iQor, Concentrix, Callbox Sales and Marketing Solutions, DCC All-Stars and to the winning teams, thank you for your outpouring support which made this league possible and more importantly fun and memorable,” he said.

A bigger and more exciting DCCBL is expected in the year 2015.
