DFA Araw ng Dabaw football tilt kicks off today

SOME 24 teams from Davao City and neighboring areas will compete today as the Davao Football Association (DFA) Araw ng Dabaw Festival of Football kicks off at 8 a.m at Tionko Field, Bolton Riverside, Quimpo Boulevard.

The event features categories under Women’s Open, Men’s Open (1st Division) composed of non Davao FA teams, Men’s Open (2nd Division) exclusive for DFA teams and Girls U14.

Coach Rachelle "Ching" delos Reyes of DFA said that PCT-Medvil, Kilusang Magkaibigan Multi-Purpose Cooperative (KMMPC) FC, Hooligans, Columbia A, Columbia B and visiting Anakk Digos will battle in the Men’s Open 1st Division while the Men’s Open 2nd Division will be contested by football clubs PTA Boys, M7 United, Intangibles, Fil-Chi, Instatech, Solido, Yza Farm and Fortes.


Lady Knights FC, Sakya FC, University of the Philippines-Mindanao FC, FC Real Davao United, University of Mindanao, DDS FC and Tambayan FC will see action in the Women’s Open category.

The Girls U14 title will be fought for among Ateneo Blue, Ateneo White, Tambayan, Barangay Lasang, Sakya and Anakk Sta. Cruz of Davao Del Sur.
She said that the top three teams of each category including the Most Outstanding Player will receive trophies in the awarding ceremony this afternoon from the event organized by the Davao Football Association. (MDC)
