Cal rules class A in Araw damafest

NEIL Brian Cal emerged class C champion in the Mayor Rody and Vice Mayor Pulong Duterte 77th Araw ng Dabaw Sports Festival Dama Tournament held Friday at Dama Center Osmeña Park.

Cal tallied eight points while Francisco Nonalo garnered seven to place second. Edgardo Ampog and Alan Antonio came third and fourth, respectively, even as Guillermo Cavoles, Noli Pueblo, Renato Pogio, Rex Ortega, Lorenzo Carredo, Ruodel Pacon and Fidel Villegas made it to the top 10.

Luciano Lamoste and Plaviano Lugatiman, meanwhile, paced class B after two rounds of the Davao City Dama Association Inc.-organized tournament with identical four points. Antonio Bongato, Marcelino Enriquez, Rey Pee Endriga and Ronnie Echavia occupied the next four spot with three points each.


Games were ongoing as of yesterday presstime. Championship round is set today in the damafest that stakes a total cash prize of P 30,000 courtesy of the city government of Davao through the Sports Development Division of the City Mayor’s Office (SDD-CMO).

Amar Bongcaras is tournament director while Alex Bentayao is chief arbiter.
