-A A +A

THE 67th PAL Interclub has concluded. I will give you a recap of the team winners.

In the Championship Division, Cebu Country Club won first place. Del Monte Golf finished second and Orchard Golf came third.

In the Founders Division, Manila Southwoods took the first spot while Negros Occidental Golf was second and Forest Hills placed third. Apo Golf almost made it to the top three, but ended up fourth after Day 4. Rancho Palos Verdes landed ninth.

In the Sportswriter Division, Eagle Ridge ruled over So Cal Redhawk and Club Filipino de Cebu that placed second and third, respectively. Davao City Golf occupied the sixth place.

In the Friendship Division, FilAm Hawaii finished first while South Cotabato placed second and Victorias Golf placed third.

What about the Lanang Golf team? Lanang Golf competed in the Founders Division. I heard, despite finishing in 19th place, ended up as the champion -- champion sa “ka-ingayan” during the awards night. Nyahahaha!

Even if they did not win, they seemed to have the most fun among all the participants. Now THAT’s the spirit of the PAL Interclub -- No pressure, lots of laughter, a great golf vacation!

By the way, congratulations to Kuresh Samanodi of Rancho Palos Verdes for finishing in 1st place in Class C of the Individual Category.

The highest scorers for Apo Golf are Carlos Alba and Denden De Castro, both with 56. Highest scorer for Rancho Palos Verdes is Kuresh Samanodi with 62. Joel Yamyamin scored 33 points on day 1 alone.

The highest scorer for Lanang Golf is Peter Cabreros with 49. Peter’s son, Jonathan Cabreros, who played for Davao City Golf scored lower. Peter, mi primo, milagro, akala ko tatalunin ka na ng anak mo. Baka gi-threaten mo siya na bawasan ang allowance niya if matalo ka. Na pressure tuloy siya. Hehe.

And, the highest scorers for Davao City Golf are Ludwig Ledesma and Benhur Villarosa, both with 52.

The highest scorer for the Apo Golf Seniors was Alrey Ceniza with 89. The highest scorers for the Lanang Golf Seniors were Lito Dublan and Joe Tesado, both with 81. The highest scorer for Rancho Palos Verdes was Ting Castillo with 85. And the highest scorer for the Davao City Golf Seniors was Boy Manajero with 79.

I would like to congratulate all the Davao participants for their effort during the competition. I know it is hard to win in the Founders Division. Sana naman, despite not making it to the top 3, I hope you had a blast in Bacolod, just like I did, with the media tournament. Better luck again next year, in Cagayan de Oro!
