NONOLY Calida, Michael Omandac, Titing Banlutan and Liza Bernadoy emerged champions in their respective divisions in the SBC Bowler of the Month tournament held Sunday night at Fairlanes Bowling Center.
Calida defeated twice-to-beat Berting Gorgonio in the step-the-ladder round, 145-106 and 129-127 to rule the class A event of the Sunday Bowlers Club-organized competition.
In Class B, Omandac bested Eric Booc who settled for the runner-up honors and June Tabat who finished third.
Top qualifier Banlutan bounced back from a first game loss to beat Bong Villamor, 123-103, to capture the class C crown. Banlutan lost in the first game, 84-122, of their finals match. Adrian Tumarao placed third.
Berandoy, for her part, outclassed Mercy del Mar, 104-92, in the ladies championship game. Del Mar settled for the second spot while Emy Dejiga wounded up third.
Winners received cash prizes and trophies.
Team Asean, meanwhile, ruled the first two games of the seven-game elimination series of the SBC President’s Cup that opened Saturday evening.
Asean rolled a total of 1,108 pins while team Torres 2 placed second with 1,107. Dover (1,103), Homer (1,099) and Petronas (1095) occupied the next three places.
The next round will resume tonight in the bowlfest that stakes P8,000 for the champion team.
