HIGHLY-touted Green cagers routed White, 92-73, to emerge champion in the just-concluded 2nd Ateneo de Davao University Grade School Community Association (Agsca) Daddy's Cup Basketball Tournament at the Fr. Martinez Sports Complex basketball court in Ateneo Matina.

The finals game saw both teams in a series of lead changes in the first half but the Bobot Castro-managed Green surged to a 20-point lead at the end of the third period to keep the White dribblers at bay. The latter, however, rallied to cut the deficit by just 10 at the start of the fourth canto, yet, the Green squad tightened up defense to foil White's rally and put up a solid lead down the stretch to secure the win.

Noy Pido and Millar Daham led scoring for Green by drilling in 22 points each while Julius Alderite canned 21 for White team that was managed by Mark Fuentes.

Daham also romped away with the most valuable player (MVP) award of the league that will open its third season sometime in August this year.

Leo Ilagan's Brown team, meanwhile, grabbed the third place over Jun Magnaye's Gray via default.

The father-and-son tandem of Pompom and Czarlo Salvador combined for 15 points to win the three-point shooutout. Both received two new Arc Mobile cellular phones courtesy of Orange and Brown managers Arnold Dellosa of RSM Smart Prepaid and SMSI owner Ilagan.

In an exhibition game, 2012 champion Red of manager Alex "Buboy" Almarion beat Agsca Non-Teaching Staff, 85-82, behind 4BGA Corporation owner Benjamin Garcia's 26 points. (MLSA)
