JAMES Infiesto adds another feather in his cap working as one of the youngest international arbiters of the just concluded World Youth Chess Championships United Arab Emirates 2013.

"I was also the only Filipino invited as ITO in the recent Asian Youth Para Games Malaysia 2013 in Kuala Lumpur which was participated in by 42 countries" said Infiesto, who also serves as regional chief of the National Chess Federation of the Philippines NCFP Davao Region.

Thankful to his family and God, Infiesto said he also gathered strength and resiliency from the inspiration of friends and supporters, one of whom is highly-esteemed Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.

For him working as a novice among veteran international chess gurus is one big opportunity for greater participation in the future, knowing that Filipinos have had their colorful stints not only in Board One but also in FIDE management as in the case of the erstwhile FIDE president Florencio Campomanes.

He said his continuing stints as the first and only FIDE international arbiter from Davao City and Mindanao should serve as a trailblazer for other future aspirants to tread on knowing that Filipino talents are very much welcome in the world of chess.
