PISD, Talomo HS notch wins in Gaisano Grand Cup resumption-A A +A

PRECIOUS International School of Davao (PISD) and Talomo National High School (TNHS) beat their rivals in the resumption of the Gaisano Grand Cup held Saturday at the Gaisano Grand Citimall SkyGym.
PISD defeated Philippine Women’s College (PWC), 63-46, in the cadet A division. Levi Joseph Agbisit of PISD carried his team to victory as his team's top scorer, contributing 22 points.
TNHS, meanwhile claimed victory over Davao Wisdom Academy (DWA), 67-56, in junior 2 division A.
In an interview with Sun.Star Davao, coach Jason Badad of TNHS said that they won because of his team’s dedication, “This is not my original lineup because a lot of my players have graduated last year, yet I am glad to see my new team’s good performance,” Badad said.
He said that they have been joining the cup competition for years already and they aspire to make it to the finals this year and be hailed as the champion.
TNHS is bannered by Dayne Marc Loreto, Uriel Rein Pagalan, Nelson Cortel Jr., Gerry Bernadas, Jhon Riz Laurente, Pablito Verzosa, Rajs Ezekiel Alvarez, Patrick John Caro, Danilo Moreno, Jason Bandoquillo, Jay Ralp Accion, Richard Buchan, Darvin Teves, John Paul Vistal and Gabriel Jos Dequina.
PISD is headed by Coach Marvic Ace Sencio with players Eufronio Hernandez IV, Dave Johansson Antioquia, Joshua Nathaniel Reyes, Rein Patrick Gumamit, Julian Alonso Marques, Roland Gabriel Huertas, John Carmelo Dela Cruz and John Ricar Ouano.
The Grand Cup, formerly known as the Gaisano South Cup, is the biggest school-based league in Mindanao in terms of participation.
