THE Agro-Industrial Foundation College of the Philippines (AIFCP) Sailors stunned Davao Champions League (DCL) champion Jose Maria College (JMC) Kings, 55-49, to post its second straight win in the 2014 Davao City Private Schools Athletic Association (DSA) Meet basketball competition at the University of Mindanao (UM) Gym Thursday night.

The Sailors, thus, grabbed the top spot of men's bracket A with a clean 2-0 slate while the Kings dropped to a 2-1 card. Agro hacked out an 86-38 victory over STI College earlier.

JMC, for its part, absorbed its first loss in three outings having triumphed past DMMA Colleges of Southern Philippines (DMMACSP), 76-73, and Rizal Memorial Colleges (RMC) Bulldogs, 81-50, in past games.

In bracket B, the UM Wildacats also seized its second win by beating Mats College of Technology, 55-49, to pace the group with a 2-0 mark. The University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC), which held a 2-1 record, took the second spot followed by 0-1 Davao Doctors College and 0-2 Mats.
Games will resume on Sunday.

The top two teams in each group will advance to the semi-finals of the league that serves as qualifying for the Southern Mindanao Private Schools Athletic Association (Prisaa) Meet set on Feb. 21 to 23 at the Davao del Norte Sports and Tourism Complex in Tagum City. (MLSA)
