Out-of-towners to join Tionko football festival

OUT-OF-TOWN teams are expected to put up a stiff contest to local squads when the 3rd Vicenta Tionko Memorial Festival kicks off on Jan. 18 at the Tionko field.

Organizing Davao Football Association (DFA) general secretary Erwin Protacio bared this during yesterday's Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at the NCCC Mall Davao B3 Center lanes.

"We opened the invitation to football teams from neighboring cities and provinces. We expect 75 percent of the players will come from Davao City," Protacio said.


Teams may join the 18-under boys and girls mixed, 16-under boys, 14-under boys and girls, boys 12-under, 10-under and boys and girls eight-under mixed categories.

All participants will receive medals and tokens in the event for everybody to enjoy the single round-robin format competition.
Each team shall be composed of 10 players. Participating team shall pay a P 500 contribution fee that is due on Jan. 17.

A photocopy of the player’s birth certificate shall be submitted as proof of age.
