It was during the National Management Committee Meeting of the Department of Education conducted at the Bulwagan ng Lalawigan where the formal launching of the Palarong Pambansa 2015 was held. It was also the time that the host Province of Davao del Norte and the cooperating cities and municipalities led by Tagum City presented the latest development as far as the preparation for the coming sporting event is concerned.

As reported in DepED’s press release found in its official website and from the report contributed by Keisha D. Halili of Davao del Norte Provincial Information Office, 38 days before the opening, the Palarong Pambansa 2015 host received outstanding marks from Education Secretary Br. Armin Luistro FSC during the official launch held in Tagum City on March 26.

In front of all the working committees of the Palarong Pambansa from local to national level and in front of 1st District Representative Anthony G. del Rosario who represented his father, Governor Rodolfo P. del Rosario, Luistro commended the preparations and said Davao del Norte could establish a benchmark for all future editions of the annual Palaro.

Luistro continued by saying that it’s really the first time that he really feels and can sense that the preparations for the Palarong Pambansa is one month ahead of schedule.

He added that he was impressed by how Davao del Norte Governor Del Rosario, kept his promise of delivering a remarkable and “the best Palarong Pambansa thus far.”

He challenged the regional directors around to see for themselves how much preparation has already been done prior to the opening of Palarong Pambansa and said that he is so certain that our friends in media, our general public, will be very pleased with what they see.

The press release added that a pleasant addition to this year’s Palaro is the comprehensive guidebook featuring the billeting schools, playing venues, safety and security, and other essential details that athletes and spectators will need to know once the event commences. Also during the launch, the song “Palaro ng Pagkakaisa” sung by local talent Maan Milan, was presented as the official theme song of the 58th Palarong Pambansa.

The news item concluded that with the advanced groundwork accomplished by Davao del Norte LGU, DepEd can now focus on the real purpose of the Palaro—to ensure the well-being of the athletes and their coaches, and to assure the development of another world-class facility in one of our country’s provinces.

This corner hopes that on the actual days of Palarong Pambansa 2015, it will bring forth the real essence of peace and unity through sports.
