I WATCHED the little baby boy blissfully sleeping in his mother’s arms. So innocent and so pure that delight is written all over the faces of his Papa John Paul and Mama Tess. Baby Matthew is such a blessing from above that the new parents are still ecstatic about.
That rented place they are presently residing became a ‘sacred’ space for the new family, and love and warmth permeates every nook and corner of their home. It was magical, to say the least and it could last a lifetime.
As the baby sleeps peacefully, what could he be thinking? I cannot help but wonder at the delicate pinkish skin and the changes in his facial expression, now smiling, then frowning, seemingly communicating. When Mama Tess kisses him gently in the forehead and talks to him quietly, he would give her a big smile while his eyes are closed, as if basking in her full attention now.
The sight is so wonderfully cosy and warm that it radiates a kind of peace in that small space. For a while I was enveloped with amazement even though it was all too familiar to me, having given birth to four tykes that have grown into men and a young lady.
That is why the world will continue to be a better place even if sometimes it seems like the wicked are everywhere, because there are more good vibes than bad. The sun will always shine no matter if stormy clouds would sometimes threaten to block it from view. There is always cause for joy and wonder on this beautiful planet because goodness will always prevail.
There will always be ‘hope for the flowers’ because all of God’s creatures will continue to flourish, even if the unscrupulous and the greedy would want to rule over all of mankind.
And so there will be plenty of rooms for the likes of Baby Matthew and his beautiful parents, a family that is starting to bloom like a pretty rose bud, touching every soul along their path.
Life continues in every way, never really ceasing even for just a second as we continue to breathe in every molecule that exist within our sphere. The birds will be singing in their glorious because there is every reason to sing praise and thanksgiving. The trees will grow and populate even if the worst of humankind continue to degrade it, to destroy the earth so that they can dig out its resources that does not belong to them.
The land will heal as it is destined to regain its wonder, and perhaps for some time, it will be wounded and scarred. And though nothing will last forever there will always be a new beginning for human kind.
Little baby Matthew will someday become a man, find his mate and continue the cycle of life as God’s creation is destined to be…
