I am reprinting this piece which I got from my published book.

God's creation enhanced by your gentle strength, your encompassing beauty.

An added glow, a beam of light in the horizon you will always be.

A crown of gems in your head deservingly would adorn thee.

You are the joy, the gentle hand the world receives with awe and glee.

In your loving gentleness you have the strength of a rock.

In your loving touch, you are a balm to an ailing heart.

In your endearing words, a raging hardened man softens and thaws.

In your intelligent talks, all cannot but stop, listen , and be in tow.

With your burning love, the home's hearth is kept warm with heat.

With your gentle agile hands, the home chores are done without much ado.

With your motherly care , the children grow up inthe molds we wish them to be.

With God-given talents, the world you seek, a fight you wage to let it better be.

Woman seemingly aggrieved, enslave awakening to a new reality.

Stop and ponder , where are you ? what have you done? what is there to be?

You need no brawny muscles to show how strong you can be.

You need no aggressiveness to fight the tide which engulfs thee.

You need not loathe this body you have or blame the hormones forming you.

Nor lament the norms , society , civilization which you now see.

You need not look so far to see what had befallen thee.Look at yourself.

Look hard, take stock and harness your God- given sublime quality.

You are the highest for in your fertile bosom is the birth bed of humanity.

Born into this world with pain and effort nothing in this world can equal this.

Your bountiful breasts give nourishment for all humanity.

You are the greatest in your role as the mother carrying on this sublime duty.

Be not adamant at what seems your fate had been belittled by society.

You are the peaceful warrior whose weapons are your goodwill and femininity.

Seek not to equal man, catch up with him, it was not meant to be.

Woman, do not dream of your sovereignty. See what your role is to be.

Instead of a closed-fist hand held high, curve it in a loving embrace.

Instead of shouts, make a just and intelligent voice of your plea.

Instead of hostile marches, pause, contemplate so peace and calm will it be.

Instead of everyone defensive give them compassion and tolerance to see.

Instead of harping on all the ills that beset this troubled society, why not create workable alternatives so our lot will much better be.

Woman, remember this. Man and Woman with different molds, God created each of thee. His plan is for both of you to Complement, to Love, to Complete each other to live in harmony.

To populate this earth, to build the world both of you hold a heritage to.

A world entrusted to you in passing by all the future generations yet to come.

They will tread it, who will forever be grateful that you did your part so well as greatly as you could possibly do.

Woman you are powerful!

I got this comment from Sister Chittister, O.S.B., a prominent feminist. I appreciate your understanding. The fact is I was very touched and very impressed by your writing. I see it as the spirit of woman rising all over this world. I would love to have the opportunity to talk to you about it. You are right that we have our own gift to give. We do not need to imitate men. In fact, that is precisely what we do not want to do. At the same time, we must see that women are given a real opportunity to be everything they can be. Most of all, we have to see that women's gifts rise to the levels and are present in the places where women's opinions, women's insights and women's perspectives carry 4qual weight in the decision- making arenas of the world or what will ever get more compassionate and nurturing about this violent and oppressive world. Thanks for this tribute to women. It is exactly women like you who give me hope. For comments text to cell phone no. 0920-211-2534.
