IT IS open season for mudslinging and spilling beans. Sen. Bong “Pogi” Revilla has gone ballistic and chose the President PNoy as his enemy No. 1, Mar “Pick Up Boy” Roxas as his enemy No. 2, and Butch “Money Bagman” Abad as enemy No. 3.

Senator Pogi went to the Senate Hall with a trolley full of documents to assert that his signatures on the receipts of his PDAF were forged by the subalterns of Queen of Scam Janet Napoles who turned whistleblowers. But nobody in the Upper House of Napoles anticipated that Mr. Pogi brought along with him a potential bomb which he detonated in the unsuspecting members of the senate. He revealed that at the height of the impeachment trial of former Supreme Court Justice Renato Corona he was secretly fetched by a former colleague in the Senate, now DILG Secretary Mar Roxas and ushered to the sancta-sanctorum of President Noy. And what did he say they talked about? The fate of CJ Corona. “Ibalato mo na sa akin,” he quoted the President as saying. “Magtulungan tayo,” he quotes Abad.

Revilla’s revelation however does not erase the scum that he is bathed with, the PDAF scam courtesy of Napoles. On the other hand no amount of speechifying and counter-propaganda can extricate the President and his elks from the quagmire of political immorality.

This reminds me of Etta Rosales’ “unethical” rebuke of Digong. If the encounter of President Aquino and his dye-in-the-wool political adversary Lakas President Bong Revilla - is not immoral and unethical at the height of the impeachment trial then it can only be criminal.

It is an impeachable offense says the dean of the college of law. The Palace says ‘go ahead’ the President is prepared to face the charges. Brave words for one who knew, as all of us knew, that no impeachment attempt can prosper in the docile members of congress. Since the power of the purse was transferred to the Executive Department the legislative department became so inutile and impotent. The Lower House for example has not produced any law for the entire 365 days in 2013 except for the inconsequential suspension of the Kabataan election.

Last year, 2013, was a year of infamy capped in January 2014 with the shocking expos‚ of grand “balato” at the height of Corona’s trial.
