DAVAO City Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte said he will have barkers who extort from taxi and jeepney drivers arrested.

The mayor issued the warning after taxi drivers complained that the barkers are demanding P5 for every passenger they pick up.

"I think this is the third time that I have issued a warning. Barkers have no job except to shout and make noise on the streets, some even grab at women," Duterte said.

He said that while he understands that barkers need the money, they should not resort to extortion.

He said that if he continues to get complaints about mulcting barkers, he will ban them and sue them for extortion and grave threats.
