P217-M SB1 approved on final reading-A A +A

AS EXPECTED, the 17th Davao City Council on Wednesday approved on third and final reading the P217-million Supplemental Budget No. 1 (SB1), the bulk of which goes to the peace and order fund.
The members of the city council unanimously voted for the approval of the SB1 with total appropriations of P217,709,007.84.
"This will be signed by Vice Mayor (Paolo Duterte) and Mayor Rody (Duterte). Then it will be sent back to us and we will forward it to the Department of Budget and Management (DBM)," Councilor Danilo Dayanghirang, chair for committee on finance, said.
A total of P50,906,202.94 or 56.08 percent of the entire budget is for peace and order program and P37,121,598.27 or 40.90 percent is for Lingap Program or for settlement of prior year's obligations and augmentation of the existing appropriation.
The Development Fund has a total appropriation of P22,349,301.29 which will go to social development (P6,732,039.29), economic development (P5,357,512), development administration (P3,557,750) and infrastructure projects (P6,702,000).
The economic enterprises will also get P8,004,569.21 – operations of markets (P7,420,037.21), operation of slaughterhouse (P237,732), operation of DCOTT (P288,600), operation of cemeteries (P55,200), and operation of Sta. Ana Port (P3,000).
The sources of funds are from surplus of calendar year 2013 (P77,187,566.89), reversion of various appropriations (P136,468,006.55), and local sources per certification of the city treasurer (P4,053,433.84). (ANC)
