TWO more city lawyers have joined the City Government of Davao's investigating committee that will hear complaints made against city employees.
By virtue of Executive Order No. 37, Lawyers Enrique J. A. Bonocan and Gil Norman D. Ciudadano are appointed as special administrative prosecutors who will conduct preliminary investigation to determine the existence of prima facie case to warrant the filing of a formal charge.
Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte earlier created an investigating committee tasked to conduct necessary administrative proceedings relative to complaints made against employees of the city government.
"During the conduct of the appropriate administrative proceedings by the committee on the first batch of cases brought before it, the committee has manifested that there is a need to amend Executive Order No. 37, Series of 2013," the EO reads.
The investigating committee is composed of lawyer Osmundo P. Villanueva Jr. as chair, lawyer Jhopee S. Avanceña-Agustin and lawyer Tristan Dwight P. Domingo as members.
"In order to ensure proper observance of due process, and to avoid delay in the proper disposition or resolution of cases brought before it, the committee has recommended the need to amend and define further the powers, functions, and duties of personnel responsible and involved in the conduct of administrative investigations," it reads.
Meanwhile, Duterte also appointed lawyer Marissa M. Marasigan-Torentera as secretariat head and Wingstone R. Arbelon as process server/liaison.
They are assigned to perform all clerical functions such as recording and service of appropriate communications, and recording of all proceedings. (ANC)
