A VIDEO of Davao City Police Office Director Vicente Danao Jr. in a quarrel with a woman inside a house has been on YouTube.

The video would not have been of much interest had it not shown the police officer attempt to hit the woman, except that the woman was able to parry off his hand.

The video was uploaded by someone with the account name “Hudas Ka” on August 9, 2013.

In the video, Danao is clearly seen shouting invectives at the woman and kicking a balikbayan box that apparently contained some breakable objects. The woman is heard saying, “Kana, kana, buak na. Very good, buak na” after the sound of a breaking glass.

The video lasted 1:18 but a portion shows whoever was taking the video walking toward the kitchen and opening the faucet before saying, “Crazy” to which the woman’s voice added, “Crazy, very crazy” and some garbled words. The video ended with the voice of a man saying, “Lumayas ka dito.”

As of 4:30 p.m. Friday, the video already had 571 views and Hudas Ka having three subscribers.

The video appears to be a domestic quarrel, but considering Danao’s high position in the city police organization, the video is inscribed with public interest.

In the comment section, Hudas Ka claimed Danao verbally and physically abuses his wife and that there have been police blotter reports about this.

To this, one account name Lalalilali said, "In all fairness po, hindi natin nakita at hindi natin alam ang buong nagyari and it is so vivid na setup po yan. Halata naman po. Hindi sa ipinagtatanggol ko po si Danao, pero private po yan at napaka-klaro na sinadya ang pag-video sa kanya."

When Sun.Star called Danao to get his side of the story, he said this is a private matter.

"No comment. It is a private matter," he said, before asking, "Kinsa ba ang magtiayon nga wala nag-away? Kamo, wala ba nag-away sa imong asawa (What couple has never quarreled? You, have you not quarreled with your wife)?"

He said the issue is not worth a story since this is a family matter.
