CHARGES were filed before the Davao City Prosecutor’s Office against a man who stabbed his co-worker dead at a poultry farm in Barangay Angliongto in Buhangin on July 22.

Facing murder charges is Jason Tolentino, 20, and a resident of Barangay Culian in Mati. He stands accused to the killing of his co-worker Jason Almirante, a 23-year-old caretaker of the farm owned by Randolph Alvarado.

Report of the Buhangin police revealed that the incident took place around 2 a.m. The other caretakers in the farm were reportedly asleep when the stabbing took place. One witness identified as Jason Patriarca told police that he heard that Tolentino and Almirante engaged in a heated altercation but he didn't mind them.

The next thing he heard was a groan from Tolentino and when he and other caretakers checked, they saw the bloodied victim lying on the ground while Almirante was seen fleeing on foot. They tried to rush the victim but the latter died on the spot.

Scene of the Crime Operatives (Soco)-11 responded at the scene and reported that the victim succumbed to two stab wounds on his chest. The cadaver of the victim was later taken to the Rivera Funeral Homes.

The suspect, meanwhile, turned himself in to the Padada Municipal police as well as the weapon he used in stabbing the victim around 4 p.m. of July 23. He was later endorsed to the Buhangin police.

The case is being resolved by Prosecutor Marte Melchor Velasco. (RSA)
