EVENT organizer Katrina Mae "Kat" Dalisay's Facebook account was flooded by words of encouragement and support from her friends in the industry amid the controversy that she's currently facing.
Days after Acting Mayor Paolo Z. Duterte called Dalisay's attention on the alleged violations of her organized rave parties, her friends expressed their support through the social networking site.
A netizen named Lhara De posted, "My heart melts right now while watching news. Mamii Kat Dalisay cries. We're just here Mamii Kat, we always support you. Antayin pa rin namin big events nyo. Stay strong Mamii."
Another netizen, Shinne Schein, said, "Awee. Kat Dalisay. Nandito lang kami para sayo. Grave naiyak talaga ako momma Kat while watching sa news. Ganyan talaga ang life, hahanapan ka ng gusot. Laban lang momma kat."
There were also those who expressed gratitude to Dalisay and Manic Nightnings Productions for giving them opportunity to express themselves through the events they conducted.
"Thank you Kat Dalisay, dahil sayo, natupad ang pangarap ko na maging DJ!! I love you so much ma!," Patricia Allen Eleonore Dobles posted.
"Kat Dalisay is an inspiration. I am grateful to have met and partied with her. She and the Manic team supported us with our events. She is one of the people I look up to. And I would love to see and experience more events from Manic Nightnings Production," said netizen Janelle Cabada.
Dondie Mark Gado said, "I am not taking sides and all but I do hope that everything will turn out well. Let's just say that Carte Blanche and Manic Nightnings Productions gave a really big impact to my "Lifestyle" and other Davawenos. I met a lot of good friends during their parties and that's an excellent incentive on my part."
"Whatever it takes, we're always here for you! Keep up the raving and heavenly parties. we may not know you guys personally but what you brought to us means a lot and those moments were worth to keep! We're always here at your back and your die hard supporters!," Jade Mynskie said.
However, one of the netizens, a certain Paul Poot, earned the ire of Barangay Matina Crossing chief Angela Librado-Trinidad after dragging her name into the one of the posts of Dalisay.
Librado-Trinidad demanded a public apology from Dalisay and Poot after posting malicious comments on Facebook, accusing her of joining a kiss fest.
Around 10 p.m. of July 22, the same day when Dalisay was grilled before the 17th City Council, Librado-Trinidad issued a statement seemingly cautioning the two about anti-cybercrime law.
Librado-Trinidad reacted to the comment of Poot that read "Si Angging Librado gani nakita nako nakipaglaplapan sa lovapaloosa sa MTS unya atik atik dayon bawal naka two-piece sa mga beauty pageant. Hypocrites!" The comment was posted on a video that Dalisay posted.
Dalisay earlier liked Poot's comment, but later "unliked" it after Librado-Trinidad placed her statement on the thread.
"I hope that you are not hiding behind any alias as I believe you are as brave as your commentaries about me," Librado-Trinidad told Poot.
"I am writing you simply to inform you that our exercise of our right to freedom of expression, although apparently limitless, must be done prudently and in good faith. Prudence dictates that you check your data first, Mr. Paul Poot because your inaccuracies can not only unmake you, it can cause your incarceration. Had you asked me first through a private message, I would have supplied you with the correct data," she said.
Trinidad also clarified that neither she nor her sister incumbent councilor Leah Librado-Yap was the author of Davao City's Women Development Code as mentioned by Dalisay in her Facebook status.
The code was authored by Councilor Nenen Orcullo and co-authored by Councilor Leo Avila.
"I understand your passion about parties and I respect that. But I abhor the fact that you twisted facts about me and the lavapalooza event to show your infatuation with skimpy clothes or decadence, in general. I doubly detest the way you hid behind the thread of Ms. Dalisay and not challenge me to a discourse outright," Trinidad said.
"Please don't take this as a threat. Women, especially mothers, do not make threats, they act," she said.
The 17th City Council on Tuesday recommended the revocation of the business permit issued to Dalisay for alleged violations on Davao City 2005 Revenue Code. (ANC)
