THE murder case against the three suspects in the killing of Cebuano businessman Richard Lim King was raffled off to the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Davao City Branch 17 on Thursday.

RTC Branch 17 Presiding Judge Evalyn Morales, however, is yet to schedule the arraignment of suspects Paul Dave Molina Labang and siblings Rommel and Rodel dela Cerna.

In her order dated July 3, Morales directed the authorities to transfer the suspects to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP)-Davao City in Ma-a.

The extrajudicial confession of the suspects obtained by Sun.Star Davao, meanwhile, detailed the alleged events that led to the incident and how the former Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU)-11 head Superintendent Leonardo Felonia got implicated in the incident.

Labang, in his extrajudicial confession before lawyer Behn Joseph Tesiorna, cited that he and Rommel overheard Rodel and Felonia sometime in March 2014 when the latter was having a practice shooting at the Laud Firing Range in Ma-a.

Labang and Rommel heard Felonia offering a job to Rodel who told the police official that he will do so if he is not busy.

Labang allegedly had a direct communication with Felonia when the latter called him on June 9 asking Labang to go to the RIU office in Ecoland.

From there, Labang allegedly received the P120,000 bounty and the picture of King.

On the day of the incident on June 12, Labang coordinated with an alleged worker of Felonia who gave him the description of what King was wearing and where he is located.

Rommel, meanwhile, was the one who double-checked the description given to them, while Rodel was the one who drove Labang and Rommel to the Vital-C building along Sobrecarey Street.

When Rommel was able to verify the description and location of King, he then gave the signal to Labang who went inside and shot King on the head.

Labang then boarded Rodel’s motorcycle leaving Rommel behind.

Rodel allegedly dropped off Labang somewhere in Barrio Obrero while the latter rode a taxi to Toril. Rommel, meanwhile, walked toward J.P. Laurel Ave. in front of the Victoria Plaza.

But while Felonia was already charged based on the extrajudicial confession of the three suspects, Prosecutor Panfilo Lovitos is yet to resolve the complaint.
