POLICE arrested on Friday the two suspects who allegedly killed a Davao City-based businessman in Davao del Sur.
The victim was identified as Ramon Teodoro Garcia, 67, owner of Nanay Bebeng's Restaurant. His body, which sustained multiple stab wounds and his mouth sealed with masking tape, was found in a 20-meter deep cliff at sitio Baluyan in Barangay Bolton in Malalag town around 9 p.m. Friday.
Davao Del Sur Provincial Police Office (DSPPO) director Sr. Supt. Michael John Dubria identified the two suspects as Daisy Cachapera, who was reportedly a golf umbrella girl, and John Liawan. He said the two were arrested in Sulop around 11 p.m. Friday.
"Personnel from the Malalag Municipal Police Station in coordination with the Sulop Municipal Police Station arrested the suspects after they were sighted in Sulop. They were brought to the two police stations for record, and then they were turned over to Davao City Police Office (DCPO)," Dubria said.
Police Regional Office (PRO) Davao Region spokesperson Chief Inspector Jed Clamor, in a separate interview, said as of this posting Saturday, the suspects were in a conference with DCPO director Police Senior Supt. Vicente Danao and intelligence group.
The city police director, however, refused to give any information. The police have yet to determine as to where the victim was killed and what could be the motives behind his death.
Record from DSPPO also showed that the victims' Toyota Innova vehicle was found torched at Sitio Dalangdang, Barangay Nagpan in Malungon, Sarangaani Province Friday evening.
Police said charges for abduction and robbery with homicide might be filed against the suspects.
