2 gun runners sued

POLICE filed charges before the City Prosecution Office against two gun runners arrested in a buy-bust operation at Central Park Subdivision in Bangkal, Davao City on Monday.

Facing charges for violation of the Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition are Rosid Rajad Coring, 32, hailing from Buhangin and Reynante Quino, 37, of Calinan.

The two were charged following their arrest in a buy-bust operation launched by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Davao.


Cops made the arrest when the suspects handed out one Kimber caliber .45 pistol in exchange for the marked money given by a police officer who acted as poseur buyer.

Also seized from the suspects' possessions were one STI Grandmaster caliber .45 pistol and two magazines with four caliber .45 live ammos.

The two are currently detained at the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) detention facility while the recovered firearms were documented at the CIDG office.

It will be later used as evidence against the suspects in court proceedings.
