DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) Director Vicente Danao Jr. said on Thursday that the search for the 11 missing bricks of cocaine at the Sumifru Wharf in Tibungco, Davao City is still ongoing.
Danao said the bricks of cocaine seized by the authorities from the wharf are still at 53, with market value of around P364,224,000.
He said the 11 bricks weighing more than 11 kilos were not yet returned to them despite the cash reward earlier offered by Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.
Duterte offered on Monday P100,000 cash reward to anyone who can give information about the other missing bricks to the operatives.
He also urged anyone at the Sumifru Wharf who got one to just return it and no question will be asked.
"Wala pa ring bago. There are still 11 bricks of cocaine na di pa na-itu-turn over sa awtoridad. And we are still requesting those who are in possession of the 11 bricks to please return it as soon as possible or else you will face consequences," Danao said.
Danao said he believes someone from the Sumifru Wharf, where the other cocaine bricks were recovered over the weekend, possesses the missing bricks, which cost P6 million each. He added that authorities tightened the security in the area.
A special investigation Task Force Group was created Monday to investigate on the shipment. The task force is headed by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Davao.
PDEA-Davao Director Emerson Rosales earlier said that if they could not file a case for violation of the Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, against the source of illegal drugs, they will charge those caught in possession of the remaining bricks. (ICT)
